On November 1, 2009, the General Store in Putney burned to the ground, leaving a huge hole in our community. For many years, the General Store supported the Tour, and we are all terribly saddened by this loss.
This was the second fire on the site. After the first (in May 2008) the Putney Historical Society raised funds to buy the site and rebuild. That work was well underway when the second fire struck. The Historical Society is now working hard to build again. If a store is not possible, they will develop the site in another community-centered way.
The Craft Tour wishes to help raise funds for the rebuilding. Twenty artisans on the Tour are donating items for an amazing raffle. Pictured on this page are a few of the items; click on any of them for a complete slide show.
Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25.

The drawing will be held at the Putney Community Supper on February 12, 2010.
Check back here for more details about the raffle and the rebuilding effort as they come available.
