I've been a fiber artist for more than 25 years, and color has always been of foremost importance to me. I use fiber-reactive Procion dyes to color white cloth. Most of the time,
I’m not trying to achieve a specific result in my dyeing, and am a big fan of spontaneous serendipity. I try to "listen" to what the fabric "wants", setting lengths of my hand-dye to best advantage. Sometimes this results in quite complicated piecing, but often the work is fairly simple in construction, though rich in visual effect. I make bedquilts and hangings, as well
as smaller items like couch & balsam pillows. I also have a line of notecards printed from photographs of my work. I have several pieces on hand at any one time, and am happy to open my studio to anyone with a serious interest in my work; call for an appointment.
