I have been working with metal steadily over the past 16 years, concentrating since 2001 on stainless steel. My large wall hangings are essentially paintings, except my canvas is a sheet of metal and my brushes are the torch and grinder. I spend my early mornings doodling the day’s plan on our slate kitchen counters before heading down to the shop. There is no classical music in the background of my studio. There are a whole lot of screaming tools and sparks flying. Yes, this is where it all happens, amidst the chaos of high voltage cables, breathing apparatuses and piles of metal. I enjoy doing custom work. Creating something for a specific site inspires my creativity: sculpture, art furniture, architectural deign, both structural and decorative. We will see what happens.
