I have been a potter and a ceramic sculptor since 1970, when I was teaching art at the high school and college levels and living and showing my work in the Philadelphia and northern Delaware and New Jersey areas. Now I am in Putney, VT, in a 200-year-old farmhouse, where my husband and I retired in 2009. My studio is renovated from a garden shed/wood studio, and I am beginning to see what my new Vermont life is inspiring in my work. My functional pottery and ceramic sculpture in porcelain and stoneware bring me equal joy. My vessels--mugs, bowls, casseroles, platters--express a strength and simplicity of form and richness of glaze for everyday use and pleasure. In my ceramic sculpture I explore human relationships through house, human, and animal imagery. I ask questions and await the answers.
Welcome to my studio!
